The Endesfelder lab started out in October 2014 at the Max-Planck-Institute for terrestrial Microbiology in Marburg, Germany. For almost 6 years, we were hosted by the Department of Systems and Synthetic Microbiology, led by Prof. Dr. Victor Sourjik.

Each year, we had our wonderful group retreat at the Hanauer Hütte in the Lechtal Alps. There was kind of a secret rule: no one was allowed to leave our group for a next position/career step until they had at least once touched the Gufelsee! We can highly recommend this wonderful place!

In August 2020, we moved to the Mellon College of Science at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA, USA, and joined the Biological Physics Group in the Physics Department. Markus Deserno, our colleague, started an amazing blog about little and larger things that move us.

You are happily invited to have a look at our current team, our alumni and of course our research and publications over the years.
